The King of Midland is the one most responsible for Griffith's ascension to power. He is the ruler of Midland, and father to Princess Charlotte.
During an almost lost battle, the King of Midland's army is saved by the Band of the Hawk. He took an immediate liking to the powerful and brilliant Griffith, and promoted him through the ranks extremely quickly. From making him a noble, to bestowing upon him the title of "Guardian of Midland," the King was always quick to reward him for a job well done.
The King's view quickly changes when Griffith seeks out the Princess in one last act of desperation after losing his most treasured prize.
